Village Home Education Resource Center

a public alternative program in Beaverton

K–12 · Alternative · Progressive · Homeschool Hybrid

5150 SW Watson Ave, Beaverton · Brandi Kujala, Executive Director

Village Home is a nonprofit, part-time learning community in Beaverton for homeschooling, unschooling, and online charter families with children ages 5 to 18. It is not a full-time school: families build a weekly schedule from 130+ mixed-age classes and clubs across academics, arts, and technology, with no grades or tests.

Choices classes and clubs meet Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday in three 10-week terms; classes average 12 learners, capped at 16, and adults may sit in. The Rivers Day Program runs Mondays and Wednesdays, 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM, for ages 6 to 14 in mixed-age cohorts built around self-directed, hands-on learning.

Teens can join Mock Trial, a two-time Oregon state champion, along with Model UN, the Learner Council, the Middle Grounds café business, and year-long Village Studios in media production or performing arts. A theater program stages 3 productions in 2026–27. Classes are secular and Village Home is not religiously affiliated, though it meets on church property.

Tuition: $75/term – $4,345/year (2026–27 range)

Your odds in the lottery

Seats here aren’t first-come; they’re drawn by lottery. Each circle below is a tenth of the families who applied over the last two springs and stayed in the running (didn’t take a higher-ranked school). Filled circles got a yes.
