a faith-based private school in Portland
PK–8 · Private · Religious · Catholic

St. Therese is a parish PK–8 in NE Portland with an emphasis on community, faith, and accessible tuition support. The student body is diverse: the school reports that 88% of students identify as BIPOC and 47% receive tuition assistance. Homeroom teachers lead core academics through 5th grade, and middle school splits by subject, with separate teachers for social studies, math and science, and English language arts.
Every grade also has specialist classes in art, music, PE and health, and technology. The technology program is the school's most distinctive offering: students at every grade learn coding, software and game design, robotics, and laser cutting, and 8th graders designed and sold laser-cut ornaments at The Grotto's Festival of Lights in 2025, a project covered by OPB.
Faith is part of the week rather than a separate track. The parish pastor teaches religion, and the whole school attends Mass on Wednesday afternoons. A Learning Specialist and 3 instructional aides support students who need extra help. Families commit to 30 volunteer hours and a $600 fundraising share each year, half that for single-parent households.
Tuition: $8,800 (2026-2027)

Seats here aren’t first-come; they’re drawn by lottery. Each circle below is a tenth of the families who applied over the last two springs and stayed in the running (didn’t take a higher-ranked school). Filled circles got a yes.
Official PPS lottery results, 2025-26 & 2026-27 combined: offers made ÷ families still in the running (offered + waitlisted); applications cancelled for a higher-ranked school excluded. pps.net › prior transfer data. Slots reset every year.
