Roseway Heights is a grades 6-8 neighborhood middle school in NE Portland's Roseway neighborhood, carrying an English track and two dual language immersion continuations side by side, Spanish and Vietnamese.
In both DLI programs, students take Social Studies and Partner Language Arts in the partner language, with the rest of the schedule in English, and when a class is taught in the partner language only that language is used. The two cohorts arrive from different elementary models: Spanish follows the district's 90:10 model, beginning at 90% partner language in kindergarten and reaching half the day by 4th grade, while Vietnamese follows the 50:50 model, splitting the K-5 day evenly. Both converge on the same structure at 6th grade, then narrow in high school to a single DLI elective. Students who reach high academic language proficiency qualify for Oregon's Seal of Biliteracy.
Staffing reflects both tracks: 2 Vietnamese immersion teachers, including a dedicated 6th grade position, and 1 covering Spanish immersion in grades 7–8 alongside introductory Spanish. 6 community partners work on campus, and families organize through both a PTA and a Hội Phụ Huynh Vietnamese parent organization, which runs a Vietnam Research Residency Program.
