Rivergate Adventist Elementary School

a faith-based private school in Gladstone

PK–8 · Private · Religious · Seventh Day Adventist

1505 Rivergate School Rd Gladstone · Katie Richmond, Principal

Rivergate Adventist Elementary is a PreK-8 Seventh-day Adventist school in Gladstone, governed by a board appointed by 8 supporting Adventist churches across Clackamas and Multnomah counties. Students are grouped into 3 multi-age classrooms covering PreK and Kindergarten, grades 1-4, and grades 5-8, and the principal also teaches the 1-4 room. Instruction divides between whole-group and small-group work, with Bible, science, social studies, PE, art, music, and drama taught to the full room and tasks differentiated by readiness, while spelling and phonics, reading fluency and comprehension, grammar and writing, and math are taught in flexible skill-based groups that shift as students progress.

Music is required at every grade, 1 class a week in K-5 and 2 a week in grades 6-8, where students choose band or choir, and grades 6-8 take electives that change year to year. The school gathers weekly for chapel and runs a fully vegetarian hot lunch program. Athletics run through the Metro Christian League, and homeschooling families can buy access to music, sports, testing, library, and enrichment for an annual fee. Admission moves through 3 phases built around a principal-led tour, a family consultation and interview, and a student assessment, so fit is determined before enrollment rather than after.

Tuition: $7,500 - $9,350 (2026-2027 range)
