MLA operates an elementary campus in Fairview and a middle-grade campus in Troutdale (both running on a 4-day M-TH week) offering a K–8 charter pathway that emphasizes Education for All, teaching to multiple learning modes, visual, auditory, and kinesthetic, and tailoring instruction to how individual students learn. The mission centers on a “safe and enriching learning environment” with attention to both academic and social-emotional development; families enroll through MLA’s charter lottery process and can preview each campus through virtual tours and open houses posted during the year.

The two-site model lets primary grades focus on foundational literacy/numeracy habits while middle grades step into team-based projects, advisory, and age-appropriate independence. Transportation is not provided. Calendars and contacts are published per campus on the school's website and app so families can navigate services and supports easily.
