Primerly field report
a private school in Portland
K–5 · Private · Language Immersion
68 SW Miles Street · Joëlle Mayo, Head of School
L’Etoile is a small, French Ministry of Education–accredited immersion school (preschool through 5th grade) where the French national curriculum is taught with high time-in-language and systematic literacy/math progressions.
School materials explain that preschool/kindergarten (maternelle) lay the foundation, then primary (CP–CM2) builds rigorous skills in French mathematics, literature, science, and humanities, English instruction is added developmentally (the FAQ notes roughly ~75% French / ~25% English in the elementary years).
Teachers hold credentials recognized by the French Ministry, and the program emphasizes native/near-native French models, clear cycles of learning, and plenty of hands-on projects and field trips. Net: a tightly focused, authentic French immersion path with credentialed teachers and a classic maternelle → primaire progression for families seeking true bilingual foundations.
Tuition: $18,350 (2026-2027)

Seats here aren’t first-come; they’re drawn by lottery. Each circle below is a tenth of the families who applied over the last two springs and stayed in the running (didn’t take a higher-ranked school). Filled circles got a yes.
Official PPS lottery results, 2025-26 & 2026-27 combined: offers made ÷ families still in the running (offered + waitlisted); applications cancelled for a higher-ranked school excluded. pps.net › prior transfer data. Slots reset every year.
