a tuition-free public neighborhood school in Portland
6–8 · Public · Language Immersion · Spanish · Portland Public Schools
3400 SE 69th Ave, Portland · Dan Carpenter
The Spanish DLI program at Kellogg relocated from Mt. Tabor Middle School as part of the district's Southeast Enrollment and Program Balancing reorganization that took effect in Fall 2023.
Kellogg Middle School continues the Spanish Dual Language Immersion primarily from two K-5 Spanish DLI elementary strands: Atkinson Elementary and Lent Elementary, where the former Bridger K-8 Spanish Immersion program was relocated in 2023. Students spend approximately 50% of their instructional time in Spanish and 50% in English, maintaining the district-wide DLI model goals of bilingualism, biliteracy, grade-level academic achievement, and sociocultural competency.
Kellogg offers standard neighborhood-school programming beyond Spanish DLI, including Special Education Services, English Language Development support, Talented and Gifted programming, Band, Guitar, and Choir, Leadership, Arts, and Technology. In partnership with the community, Kellogg strives to prepare all students to become lifelong learners and engaged members of the community, ready to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future. Students who successfully complete the DLI program through high school and reach high levels of academic language proficiency qualify for Oregon's Seal of Biliteracy.

Seats here aren’t first-come; they’re drawn by lottery. Each circle below is a tenth of the families who applied over the last two springs and stayed in the running (didn’t take a higher-ranked school). Filled circles got a yes.
Official PPS lottery results, 2025-26 & 2026-27 combined: offers made ÷ families still in the running (offered + waitlisted); applications cancelled for a higher-ranked school excluded. pps.net › prior transfer data. Slots reset every year.
