Firm Foundations Academy Northwest is a Christian classical hybrid school serving families in the Newberg and Sherwood areas, operating on a three-days-on, two-days-home model in which students attend campus and then complete structured assignments at home the other two days. The Newberg campus also offers an optional Monday and half-day Friday extension called the Trestle program for families who want more on-campus time. Academically, the school is grounded in the classical trivium: teaching the grammar (fundamentals), logic (relationships between subjects), and rhetoric (expression) of each discipline, with a deliberate emphasis on teaching students how to think rather than what to think.
A distinctive feature is the school's commitment to students with diverse learning needs, formalized through its Discovery Program, which serves students with dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, executive functioning or social-skills challenges, anxiety, and autism spectrum diagnoses. Students remain mainstreamed in regular classes with teacher accommodations, with on-site educational therapy available as a pull-out option for those who need more direct instruction, making it an unusual option for Christian families seeking classical education for children who learn differently. The school describes its approach as "compassionate" alongside "Christian and classical," treating spiritual formation, cognitive development, social skills, and emotional wellbeing as interconnected rather than separate concerns.
Tuition: $5,870 (2026-2027)

Seats here aren’t first-come; they’re drawn by lottery. Each circle below is a tenth of the families who applied over the last two springs and stayed in the running (didn’t take a higher-ranked school). Filled circles got a yes.
Official PPS lottery results, 2025-26 & 2026-27 combined: offers made ÷ families still in the running (offered + waitlisted); applications cancelled for a higher-ranked school excluded. pps.net › prior transfer data. Slots reset every year.
