Cascadia School

a private school in Vancouver

1–8 · Private · Montessori

10606 NE 14th St, Vancouver · Danielle Benge

Using the Montessori Method of Education, Cascadia creates a "safe, child-centered community of academic excellence", featuring mixed-age classrooms and a student-driven, mastery-based curriculum rather than traditional single-grade instruction. Instead of traditional single-grade instruction, students are grouped into three-year cycles (Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary, and Middle School), allowing them to progress through math and literacy materials at their own pace while remaining with the same teacher cohort for continuity.

Beyond core academics, Cascadia students participate in weekly Orff Music, PE, Student Council, and American Sign Language, with afterschool programs in Ukulele, Drama, Art, Sports, and Running Club available by season. A robust field trip program brings learning to life through visits to OMSI, Portland Art Museum, Mt. St. Helens, Fort Vancouver, and more, and each spring students attend overnight outdoor school.

Tuition: $12,291- $12,492 (2026-2027 range)

Your odds in the lottery

Seats here aren’t first-come; they’re drawn by lottery. Each circle below is a tenth of the families who applied over the last two springs and stayed in the running (didn’t take a higher-ranked school). Filled circles got a yes.
