Benson Polytechnic offers Portland’s most comprehensive career and technical education (CTE) programs, alongside a full academic curriculum. Students choose from seven career tracks, such as Health Occupations, Construction, and Digital Media, and spend part of their schedule in industry-grade labs. Academic courses are rigorous and aligned to college standards, ensuring graduates are ready for both immediate employment and higher education. The blend of technical and academic training fosters problem-solving, adaptability, and a strong work ethic. Following extensive modernization, Benson now combines its traditional CTE strengths with upgraded classrooms, collaborative learning areas, and state-of-the-art labs.

Note for families: Benson has an unusually deep support infrastructure, including a Behavior Intervention Specialist, a Qualified Mental Health Professional, 4 counselors, a Youth Transition Specialist, on-site LATINO Network staff, and an OHSU Wellness Center, making it one of the most comprehensively staffed public high schools in Portland for students who need more than academics alone.
