The Beaverton Academy of Science and Engineering (BASE) is a specialized 6-12 school that utilizes the EL Education (Expeditionary Learning) framework, emphasizing a blend of rigorous academics and character development through real-world "expeditions" and public exhibitions of work. Middle schoolers benefit from a "wheel" curriculum that allows them to rotate through Computer Science, Engineering, and Biomedical Health careers before selecting a focused high school pathway in 9th grade.

To ensure every student succeeds, the school integrates AVID instructional strategies across all classrooms and provides a dedicated Access Tutorial (AT) period every other day for 1-1 teacher support and peer tutoring. Students also belong to a "Crew," a consistent advisory group designed to foster strong relationships and the professional habits necessary for high-quality craftsmanship and community contribution. Students have the opportunity to earn college credit in math, biomedical science, engineering, foreign language and science courses through OIT (Oregon Institute of Technology), PCC (Portland Community College) and PSU (Portland State University). The culture celebrates curiosity, innovation, and high academic expectations.
